We are YouthWatch Bury
We are a team of young volunteers working with Healthwatch Bury. We started this project at the beginning of 2026 to help improve local health and care services for young people aged 13–25.

At Youthwatch Bury, we believe being heard actually makes a difference.
Our motto, “Speak up. Be heard. Make change.”, is at the core of everything we do.
By sharing your voice, you can help highlight the real issues faced by young people in Bury when using services — from mental health support to sexual health clinics and GP appointments.
Youthwatch Bury Mission Statement

Youthwatch Bury is a youth-led initiative working alongside Healthwatch Bury to make sure young people’s voices are not just heard, but acted on. We are committed to improving local health and care services for people aged 13–25 by listening to real experiences and turning them into meaningful change.

Our mission is to raise awareness, amplify young voices, and challenge the barriers that young people face when accessing services such as mental health support, sexual health clinics, and GP care. We believe that no young person should feel ignored, dismissed, or unheard when it comes to their health and wellbeing.

As part of Healthwatch, we have statutory powers to gather feedback, enter and view services, and share our findings directly with decision-makers. This means your experiences can influence how services are run and improved across Bury.
We encourage all young people to get involved, speak up, and share their experiences with us. By contacting Youthwatch Bury, you are helping to shape better, fairer services for yourself and others — because real change starts with your voice.

How we make a difference
-
We turn real experiences into real change by sharing young people’s feedback directly with the people who run local health and care services.
-
We use our statutory powers through Healthwatch to make sure your voice reaches decision-makers who can improve services.
-
We’ve already made an impact through projects like our CAMHS report, where young people’s experiences helped highlight key issues and push for improvements in mental health services.
-
We support and promote findings from Healthwatch Bury’s work on mental health services, helping make information more accessible and ensuring young people know where to get support.
-
We highlight important issues affecting young people — from long waiting times to accessibility barriers — and push for real action.
-
We work with local organisations to make services more inclusive, accessible, and youth-friendly.
-
We give young people the chance to speak up, get involved, and be part of improving services in Bury.
